SBPD Needs Help Identifying South Side Offender

Recently, the South Bend Police Department has been receiving calls of a male subject who has been seen on the south side of the city committing various acts of voyeurism or exhibitionism. Last night (05-15-07) the individual was spotted at least four times between midnight and approximately 1:00 AM. The complaints all involved a Male, White suspect in various stages of undress, in the yard areas of residences.

Police are asking residents to remember to keep their properties well lighted and curtains drawn during the nighttime hours. Please report any in-progress suspicious activity or trespassing to the police by calling 911.

Police Memorial Service set for Friday, May 18

The South Bend Police Department will be hosting its annual Police Memorial Service on Friday, May 18, 2007, at 1:30 PM, in the front of the SBPD Headquarters building, 701 W. Sample St..

All members of the community are invited to attend. The service commemorates the sacrifice of South Bend and all law enforcement officers that gave thier lives in the service of their communities.

 

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

In late April and early May, 2007, the city experienced a rash of armed robberies to several 7-Eleven convenience stores. After an extensive investigation, the South Bend Police Department would like to announce the arrest of an individual for three (3) of those robberies (2 at the 500 E. Lasalle location and 1 at the 2200 Mishawaka Ave. location) . The individual is one:

Archie J. Taylor, Male age 21, of 600 W. South Street, South Bend.

Taylor was taken into custody on May 09, 2007 at his home and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail under an Arrest Charge of three (3) counts of Felony Armed Robbery.

Armed robbery is a serious gun crime and the SBPD is committed to vigorous investigation of these cases.
