Night Out Against Crime

National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of various crime prevention programs including neighborhood watch groups, law enforcement agencies, state and regional crime prevention associations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals, devoted to safer communities. The nation’s premiere crime prevention network works with law enforcement officials and civilian leaders to keep crime watch volunteers informed, interested, involved and motivated. SBPD Boxing Club

In 2006, the South Bend Police Department Athletic League was re-launched, with the startup of the South Bend Police Boxing Club. This club is still going today!

South Bend Police Department Captain Darryl Boykins and Pastor Verneil Lewis of Grace Community Baptist Church have paired “in the ring” to bring the new South Bend Police Boxing Club to inner city boys and girls, ages 10-18.

This free program matches cops and kids in a sports mentoring program showcasing the skills and self discipline of boxing.

The Boxing Club was born out of a need to encourage young people to value peaceful and positive ways to resolve differences or frustrations. It’s a way for youths to put down violence and death—and put on the boxing gloves for a better life.

Police Athletic League

South Bend P.A.L.," Cops Teaching Kids”, non-profit organization whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Mission:
The South Bend Police Athletic League Incorporated was formed to help sustain numerous youth outreach activities. We work toward reduction and prevention of youth related crime, violence and gang involvement by school aged youth within the South Bend Community School System. We further strive to improve the safety in schools and the community for the youth of South Bend, Indiana.
