The South Bend Regional Academy is again looking forward to providing
the best in training opportunities for all our regional members in 2007.
The
Academy receives no profit from membership fees, all money is spent on instructor
costs and related training equipment and supplies.
In 2006, without an
increase in membership fees, we were able to provide thirty one excellent training
classes and seminars for our 32 member police departments.
Listed below
are the Regional Academy fees for 2007:
Large Department (100+ Officers)
$745.00 Med-Large Department (30-99 Officers) $645.00 Small-Medium Department
(13-29 Officers) $545.00 Small Department (1-12 Officers) $445.00
The
schedule for the first half of 2007 will include the two day Spanish course that
was rescheduled from this past year.
We will also present the following

P.A.C.T. Agency Training Council * Two week Drug Enforcement Administration’s
Basic Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Course * Radar Certification Course *
Attorney Charles Braun returns for his annual Legal Update Course. * The 7
Habits of Highly Effective People * Survival Pistol Shooting * Defensive
Tactics and Handcuffing * S.F.S.T. & T.O.P.S * Straight & Expandable Baton
* Veteran Officers Survival School * Photo & Crimes Scene Processing classes
* The three week Accident 1, 2, 3 classes * Financial Investigations *

The South Bend Regional Police Academy is now a training site for the
National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). NW3C is a congressionally-funded, non
profit corporation; through a combination of training and critical support services,
they equip state and local law enforcement agencies with skills and resources
needed to tackle emerging economic and cyber crime problems.
Individual
police agencies must sign up for a free membership in order to take advantage
of free training that will be provided by NW3C. Once the department is registered,
the individual officers may register online for the training courses they desire
to attend.
Registration can be done by going to the WN3C
website.
Other non-regional academy training will again be sponsored
at the South Bend Police Department.
This type of training will be provided
at a cost departments will pay directly to the training provider.
